Akshat Pathak is an Associate Partner and Global Lead – Inclusive Financial Ecosystems at MicroSave Consulting, with close to 17 years of experience across consulting and banking. He advises governments, regulators, and financial institutions on financial sector transformation, digital public infrastructure, and payments ecosystems, with a growing focus on regulatory and supervisory technology (RegTech/SupTech) and data-driven oversight systems.

He currently leads a multi-country portfolio across Asia, Africa, and the Pacific, partnering with governments, regulators, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to design and implement financial inclusion strategies, digital ecosystem roadmaps, and large-scale transformation programs. He brings deep experience in donor program design, institutional strategy, and digital payments ecosystem development, with a strong focus on agent and merchant network expansion, product and channel innovation, and consumer protection and data governance.

He has previously led country programs and high-impact advisory engagements in Vietnam, supporting fintechs and financial institutions on product innovation and market expansion. He has also worked with UNCDF in Zambia on national-level DFS ecosystem development. Earlier in his career, he managed a ~USD 1 billion portfolio at Axis Bank (India), supporting MSMEs and corporates across agri and allied sectors through structured lending and credit solutions, while contributing to product innovation and process improvements.
