AYISAT AGBAJE-OKUNADE
Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade is a young and dynamic social equality enthusiast who strives to find long term solutions to social inequalities through economic development and social inclusion.
She started her career in 2014 as a Legal/Administrative assistant with Kimberly Wanye and Diamond Solicitor in Woolwich. In 2015, she joined the Hyde Group as a Project Officer in London. Then was the Outreach Associate for Inclusion at NCS The Challenge in Waterloo, London creating successful long-term relationships with local authorities and community organisations.
She currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Development Partnership and Economic planning. Before her current role, Ayisat was the Special Assistant to the Kaduna State Governor as a Kashim Ibrahim Fellow.
She is an Alumnus of the University of Westminster. Where she bagged her first degree LLB, Law and her second degree MA, International Relations and Democratic Politics. She is also a professional graduate of Political Science and Government at Harvard Extension School. She has certifications in Marco Economics from Kaduna Business School, Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies from Emeritus, Role of Policy in Engendering Good Governance from National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS) kuru, and Scholarly writing from Transcontinental University.
As a young lawyer, Ayisat Agbaje loved to give back to the community through volunteering. She volunteered with John Wilson Pantry as a meal server for homeless people. Volunteered with Restless Development as a Peer Educator and founded her NGO, Ayisat Agbaje Initiative (AA Initiative), in 2016. AA Initiative advocates for Orphan and Vulnerable Children (OVC), pushing for reform of laws and policies to support the OVC population and implement programmes to improve their well-being, nutrition and materials.
