Noel Mahombera
Noel is the Programme Manager responsible for Regulation and Supervision of Financial Institutions at the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI). His role is to develop and implement capacity development interventions on financial sector regulation and supervision covering banking, insurance, capital markets and pensions in 14 countries.
He has more than 15 years of experience spanning financial sector regulation, securities trading and settlement, as well as formulation and implementation of regulatory frameworks in the securities sector.
Before joining MEFMI, Mr. Mahombera worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe as Surveillance and Risk Manager. Prior to that, he worked as an Equities Trader on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
Mr. Mahombera holds an MBA (Banking and Finance) degree with Distinction from the National University of Science and Technology, and Bachelor of Business Studies Honours degree from the University of Zimbabwe. In addition, he is a CFA Charter-holder and a member of the CFA Institute, USA. He has also undergone specialised training in Regulation of Capital Markets under the MEFMI Fellows Development Programme.
