Nzau Muinde is the Public Policy Manager for Mobile Money at GSMA, where he works at the intersection of regulation, innovation, and Africa’s digital infrastructure. His work centres on a defining question for the continent: how do you build the rails, payments, data, cloud, and connectivity, that can carry Africa’s next trillion-dollar digital economy safely and at scale? Across multiple African markets, Nzau has worked directly with central banks, regulators, and private sector actors to shape the regulatory conditions that make digital finance trustworthy and inclusive. He understands that infrastructure alone is not enough, the governance frameworks around it determine whether digital rails are adopted, sustained, and ultimately transformative.
